In the last few weeks, Jewel's class has started a phonics-based reading program. Last Tuesday, she brought home her first book in her reading folder!! She has been practicing Mac and Tab all week. Jewel is not a big fan of sitting still and sounding out the words, but when she does...she does a great job. :) I am so proud of her, and she is really proud of herself...especially when she read the entire book to her dad the other night. Every Tuesday we send it back and get a new book. Jewel is home sick today, but her teacher promised that she would exchange her book when she goes back to school on Thursday. Get excited about...short 'i' sounds!!
