Day of Firsts!!!

Yesterday was the first day of school. It was also Jewel's first day of 1st grade! She was also going to a brand-new, beautiful school. She was just a little bit excited!!

This year, school starts a little earlier, so we can't take our time eating breakfast and getting ready...which is a problem for Bubba. He is a poky eater. Jewel looked so grown up as she headed off to school. Check out the sparkly, silver tennies. :)

Bubba was not feeling well, so Scooter had to take Jewel to school (Mama Bird was a little sad not to see her little birdie off), but Dad did great!! Jewel loves her new teacher. She was thrilled to know that Ms. Mc was from her old school, so she knew her. One of Jewel's friends from her kindergarten class is with her again this year, as is her "crush".

Jewel had a great first day in first grade. I know it will be another wonderful year. Bubba starts school for the first time in 2 weeks. Mama Bird might have a little breakdown when that day gets here!!
