Vegas Baby!

The months are flying by and I have been very lax in my blogging. My New Year's resolution will be to do much better. I will try and get it updated before the holidays. But...

I have been listening to my children and Scooter playing cards upstairs. They are playing Blackjack, chips and all. Scooter is the dealer and then the kids are counting their cards to see who has the higher number. Granted, Bubba is just counting, but Jewel could be a card shark. My dad and Scooter's entire family love playing cards...especially poker. Jewel has been obsessed with poker chips and cards forever. Whenever Jewel would go to Papa's, they would sort all of his chips from his previous poker game. She learned her colors, patterning, and counting...while Papa got his chips back in order.

Now Bubba has Blackjack fever!! He has been eyeing the deck of cards and case of chips for the past week on the table. You should have heard the squeals of delight when Scooter told them they were going to get them out. Tonight, he seems to be the big winner as he sits counting and stacking his chips. He has quite a pile. It infuriates Jewel every time she has to give him a chip. Lady luck is not hers tonight!!

Make sure you hold onto your wallets next time you visit Mama Bird's house...or at least come prepared with lots of cash! ;) I see a Mama Bird family vacation to Vegas in our future.

Jewel has one more week of school and her holiday party. I will try and get some pictures of that. She earned a coupon to eat with her teacher and hasn't stopped talking about how awesome it was. Bubba is into everything and throws himself around the house like a WWF wrestler.

Mama Bird is almost done with her holiday shopping. Just a few gifts to buy and then wait for all of my online purchases to be delivered (what did I do before the Internet). I have not set foot in a mall in months!! Scooter called the off duty firefighters to put up some lights for me...and I love them!! I think the kids like them almost as much as I do. :)
