The first part of the week was uneventful. Mama Bird was sick AGAIN with a sinus infection, so I was down for the first few days. We had a movie day on Tuesday. We rented The Princess and the Frog, picked out our own candy at the grocery store, and popped popcorn. The kids had a blast. Mama Bird was able to rest for a little while, and they got to do something fun. Bubba watched about half of the movie before playing with his cars, but Jewel sat glued to the TV the entire time.
Thursday was Scooter's birthday. Jewel and I made him a Chocolate and Peanut Butter Torte. It was a departure from his usual Great American Cookie Cake.
On Friday, Yaya and Pappy drove up from Waco to spend the weekend with us. While Pappy was playing golf with an old high school buddy, Yaya treated us to lunch and we spent some time at a local Wildlife Sanctuary. The kids really liked it. Next time we might pack a lunch and walk a few of the trails. The bad weather that weekend cancelled Jewel's 2nd soccer game and Scooter's golf game.

They had some neat animals on display. Because of the approaching colder temperatures, they had to put several of the animals inside. They are creating a butterfly garden which will open later this spring. I think the kids will really like to see that!
